We had asked ourselves many times why we trusted Karl Lueders in the first place and why we stayed with him when things were going poorly. The answer was because very simply Karl loves his dogs. We are dog people, not everybody gets that, but those of you who have little fur kids of your own do.
Karl had a beautiful, black lab named Goethe (pronounced Gerta) and when we were working with him Goethe was going through treatment for lymphoma. Karl was truly broken up about it and we were totally empathetic. He even asked if we would be emergency contacts for his pet sitter when he went on vacation. Sadly, Goethe succumbed to the cancer and she was only five years old.
Now Karl has started a fund in Goethe’s name to help raise money for Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital here in Denver. They are a non-profit animal hospital providing care for pets whose parents are of lower income and may not be able to afford the veterinary care required. He is trying to raise $25000 for them over the next five years.
This is sincerely something to be commended, and we encourage anyone who loves animals or even anyone who feels we have been unfair to Karl to donate to “The Goethe Fund.”
The hard lesson we have had to learn is that just because somebody shares your opinion on dogs, or is kind to animals, doesn’t mean they always deserve the benefit of the doubt. And just because he loves his dogs doesn’t mean Karl Lueders is a good realtor.
